Bio
Charlotte Pittaway and James Taylor, are composers from Cardiff (aged 27). Our primary area of writing is vocal music, adding real choir or multi-tracked vocal layers to our compositions to create a unique form of vocal-led production music - including, a cappella, pop, folk, choral, atmosphere, vocal mnemonics etc.
Due to live vocals being such a huge part of our writing process, we write almost exclusively together allowing us to multi-track layers of harmonies that are instinctive and authentic, covering between us the higher and lower ranges of the human voice. Therefore, we’re really excited to present you a joint portfolio that explores the versatility and power that vocal-focused compositions can bring.
Although we've been composing and vocal arranging for a number of years, including directly for our choir, professional a cappella groups and advertising agencies such as a mnemonic with Ikea last year, we're fairly new in our library music production journey and would absolutely love the opportunity to showcase our unique take on production music to the panel of fanatstic production labels and musicians.
The above portfolio includes examples from 5 library albums:
- Track 1 and 2 are from our Celtic Vocal album, bringing you through a world of ethereal vocals, folklore myths and legends.
- Track 3 is an example of our meditative vocals & drones album, floating you through a landscape of vocals that are dreamy and soft.
- Track 4 brings you into the realm of Epic Vocals, bringing soaring choirs, rising string lines and power.
- Track 5 is an example of our clean, jazz a cappella - particularly suitable for short advertisement.
- Track 6 is an example of live a cappella with a real choir singing our arrangement and reharmonisation of the beautiful folk song ‘She Moved Through the Fair’.
With the rise of AI, we feel there’s a real need for this kind of music with live vocals and instrumentation at the heart of the composition - capturing emotion and connection.
